Guardians Academy |
We're making Mondays awesome! Each Monday, Academy students gather for a fun and enriching group learning experience. Students attend for the duration of the daily program, and we roll together history, science, literature, health, logic, citizenship, and more! A mix of purchased and created curricula is used to build an awesome program. Scroll down for important Academy Program details. If approved, tuition payments may be made monthly. Discounts are given if a parent signs up to be onsite every Monday, fulfilling jobs each hour as assigned and/or teaching. All teachers must be submit to a background check. Discover Program is for ages four through seven, who have mastered self care and are ready for drop-off. We have a blast reading great books, creating fun projects, and trying simple experiments. Students are engaged in learning how to share, listen, communicate, encourage, try-again, ask questions, and practice good manners. Parents will need to assist at home with occasional simple home projects and challenges, and students will prepare some class projects and show-offs to share with parents. Students bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy recess. Tuition: $360/year plus class supply fee Class supply fee will be determined based on registration numbers and will be invoiced in September/October. |
EXPLORE Program is for ages eight through ten, who are ready engage and advance. Based on ability, books will be assigned and thoroughly enjoyed with projects and activities that enhance learning. History will come to life with biographies, maps, and did-you-know facts. We will sharpen those communication and follow-through skills, and consistently practice good manners. Students will discover science facts and do experiments to cement learning. Parents will need to assist at home occasional projects and challenges. Students will have homework, and complete both individual and class projects. Tuition: $380/year plus class supply fee Class supply fee will be determined based on registration numbers and will be invoiced in September/October. |
MS Challenge is for ages 11-13 (maybe 14, depending on readiness). MS Challenge students should be ready to take it up a notch and fully engage. Based on general ability level of group, books will be assigned and thoroughly enjoyed with projects, skits, videos, and activities that enhance learning. History will come to life with biographies, maps, field trips, and writing activities. We will sharpen those communication and follow-through skills, and consistently practice good manners. Students will discover science concepts and do experiments to cement learning. Parents will need to help ensure that homework is completed and returned. An age-appropriate number of book reports, projects (individual and class), and writing/video assignment will be expected. We're really excited about this year's plans for this group! HS Challenge is for ages 14-18, depending on readiness). These students should be ready to take ownership of their learning experience and make it count. Based on general ability level of group, books will be assigned and thoroughly enjoyed with projects, skits, videos, and activities that enhance learning. History will come to life with biographies, maps, field trips, and writing activities. HS students will be expected to represent themselves well, do their cheerfully do their best work. This group will be together for certain hours, and will have the opportunity (at registration) to choose from a couple of class options for other hours. Each semester, there will be book reports, projects, writing assignments, and a small amount of material to be completed at home, along with homework. Primarily on their own, students will be expected to communicate with teachers, complete homework, and ensure everything is completed on time. Tuition: $430/year plus class supply fee Class supply fee will be determined based on registration numbers and will be invoiced in September/October. |

American Characters & Cultures The Unique Geography of the United States Cinema Studies Faith Foundations of American Government Speech Bee Keeping 101/102 Personal Finance Life Skills you NEED Psychology from a Christian Perspective American Artists Art Medium Sampler | Our high schoolers will spend time learning together as a whole group, and spend time in smaller groups based on the class selections made at registration. Classes are meant to help students with learning and working in a group setting, provide guidance for group and indpendent projects and homework, and a safe place to build and sharpen skills that will benefit them in college, tech school, work, and family life. This program is not meant to be academically rigorous, but does require that both parents and students understand that all are expected to be actively engaged and striving to do their best on the few projects that are assigned. Lots of time is built in for social interaction and friendship-building! |

We'll also explore the physical characteristics and geography of the United States that help to shape our day to day live in America. For other hours, classes will be determined by student selection at registration. See descriptions below to help with class selection. |
Cinema Studies Full year. Experience great literature through a combination of reading and watching movies. Specific books covered will be determined by teacher and student experience. Life Skills you NEED Full Year It's fun to learn Life Skills with a group! Come join us as we tackle some basic new adult questions and skills. | Faith Foundations of US Gov't Full Year. Together, we'll explore how the Bible shaped the soul of western culture, how prayer has been a key component of foundational moments in our history, and what our foundational documents say about faith. Psychology Semester This lighthearted course will give teens the important basics to help build self awareness through understanding how teens’ minds work, understand the ancient basis for psuchology today, gain a grasp of the basics of mental health, help a friend during hard times. | Speech Semester A fun study of great speeches and how they helped shape history. Basic speech types covered and practiced for Speech credit. American Artists Semester Let's take a look at both some well-known and not so well known American artists, and the statements they may be trying make through art. Class will copy styles of their favorites. | Financial Literacy Semester Let's help prepare them for managing money throughout their lives! This is a life skills math credit. Class will teach skills for managing money, making financial decisions, planning for future, and more. Art Medium Sampler Semester Wanna try something new? We'll try our hand at different art mediums--some may be familiar to you, and others completely unfamiliar. You may discover a passion for a new creative process! |
