Membership Service |
| We are a community of home schooling families, and the more invested and involved each family is, the more fun and enrichment we have together! Standard Memberships and PREP Memberships have a service requirement as part of the cost of membership. If you pay your membership fees but do not contribute your service, then payment for your membership is incomplete. We have exciting activities and events planned for each year, but we can only bring those plans to fruition if families serve alongside admin, staff, teachers, and coaches. Many hands make light work, and we need your hands! Families will choose a first choice and a second choice area of service. There are limited spots available in some areas (we don't need 40 families to help with Teen Nights), so choose quickly. You may choose as many service areas as you like, but you must choose at least one. You will be contacted by the Leadership Team member over that area of service to choose specific activities or events at which to serve. Planned activities and events will be adjusted--added or subtracted--depending on the level of involvement and reliability we have from member families. |
We understand that there are certain seasons of life that allow families to give a lot of their time, and other seasons of life that mean a family's contribution to the BCHE community might need to be as simple as setting up and taking down for a Spelling Bee or Project Fair reception. No worries--there's something for everyone! If your family has a situation that might hinder the ability to fulfill your service requirement, please contact admin or Leadership Team. |
Nuts & Bolts This
involves office and admin assistance, communication, facility rental,
new member assistance, Homeschool 101, etc. Help be the glue that holds
things together! | Fundraising & Promotion Membership and activity fees don't always cover costs and we want to keep family costs down as much as possible--this means fundraising...and promoting those fundraisers! | Family Events These are all-age events and activities, like Game Nights, Park Days, Family Reading Challenges, Holiday Parties, etc. These are not drop-off events. | Academy Each Academy Family chooses one day per semester to help out, but there are still lots of small jobs that help make Academy run smoothly. This would be helping with extra things, outside of the one day per semester service required of Academy families. |
Special Events BCHE offers some big events each year, and there are lots of moving parts! Choose this service area if you want to help with Prom, Middle School Banquet/Super Trip, Elem Big Fun, Spelling Bee, Project Fair, Graduation, etc. | Sports Choose this service area if you want to commit to helping with Archery, Basketball, Pickleball, PE, and any other sports that may be on offer. We need assistant coaches and help with ticket sales, promotion, chaperones, equipment maintenance, etc. | PK & Elementary This is for PREP members, and those Standard Members who have a passion for helping with fun activities for little ones and their parents! Choose this service area to help with Wee Guardians, Nature Guardians, Spelling Bee class, Elementary Nights, KGrad, and PREP activities. | Middle & High School Choose this service area if you want to help with awesome stuff for our MS & HS group-- Teen Nights, Book Clubs, Writing Challenges, Service Projects, and Field Trips! |
